Our History..
Welcome to the Patchouli Garden website! We are a company that loves authentic Indonesian patchouli and we specialize in our original custom patchouli blends! Everything with the Patchouli Garden name on it, we make right here in our store! We are located in Park Falls, WI. Patchouli Garden was founded 20 years by Lynda Dayton. The store at first was an import store but a few years into future Lynda started experimenting with aromatherapy and making her own products. Fast forward and before she knew it Patchouli Garden had grown into it's own brand! Fall of 2019, Lynda decided to retire. So in December of 2019, an employee of Lynda's bought Patchouli Garden. Her name is Tara Tervort and she is excited for the future of Patchouli Garden. Since the purchase of the company, we moved locations to new larger building in downtown Park Falls, WI. In 2021, Patchouli Garden became federally trademarked. We are our officially a US brand! There are many other fun changes happening to our company and we are very grateful for all our loyal customers! Thank you!

Hello!
My name is Tara Tervort. I’m in my mid 30’s. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart Sean for almost 16 years and we have 4 beautiful children, Alex 14, Lexie 13, Zane 10 and Zoe 8. Before Patchouli Garden, I was a worship leader in my local church for 11 years. That is actually where I met Lynda the former owner of Patchouli Garden. I have a passion for creativity. I’ve loved music my whole life and I’ve loved arts and crafts. I also designed and sewed pageant dresses for 5 years while being a stay at home mom. It was after my youngest started school that I decided to start working again. That is when Lynda asked me to work for her at Patchouli Garden. When I first started with this company, I was amazed! I had no idea all the products this company produced. This company is all about creativity and making quality items. I immediately was fascinated and wanted to learn everything I could from this company and the other employees. Fast forward 2 years later, our local city council approached Lynda about the Patchouli Garden building we were occupying. Long story short, they wanted the property gone to make room for a large bank. Lynda was already talking about retirement and she was not willing to move an entire company and start over at a new location. So I offered to buy the company. So 2 months later, I closed on December 5th 2019. Then on December 31st, I worked out a deal with the city to purchase our building and we closed on that. Then on Jan 14th 2020, I closed on our new building. This new building was a lot larger and is perfect for growth. We did some renovations and moved-in in April 2020. It’s been a crazy but very blessed ride. I love this company and I have big dreams for it. One dream came true this last year of 2021. We are officially federally trademarked and we’re a recognized US brand. I can’t wait to see where we go from here! Thank you to all our loyal customers and fans. I am truly grateful. The women behind the products!
Linda has been with the company for almost 15 years! She is a treasure trove of knowledge. She knows every aspect of this company and keeps this company running smoothly. She is the manager, bookkeeper, candle maker, soap maker, and online shipper. She can do it all. She even keeps me (Tara) together. If there is an issue, she is our problem solver. You have probably talked to her over the phone or via email at one point or another. She is intelligent and very kind hearted. I am very grateful to have her.

Patti
Patti has been with the company also over 15 years. She also learned how to make the bath and body products as well as doing most of the online shipments. She also has much knowledge about this company and has been instrumental in the progress of our success today. Today she is part time, she comes in every Monday and does the majority of packing the weekend online orders. So if you order over the weekend, she most likely is the one preparing and shipping your order. I am grateful for her support and her encouragement.
Faith
Faith has been with Patchouli Garden for over 4 years. We call her the roll on Queen! She makes most of the perfume roll ons here. Last year she made over 5000 roll ons! Woah! She also makes many of the body sprays, lotions, shower gels, incense, powders, beard oils, etc. She also is one of the regular faces in our local storefront. She is such a kind hearted fun person to be around. She knows everyone by name and is the most friendliest person you’ll ever know. We are so lucky to have her and I’m grateful she’s here. She’s a fast and very diligent worker. If you call us on the phone, you just might get to know her!
Katie
Katie is one of our newer employees. She’s been with us almost 2 years now. She’s a quick learner, especially with how fast paced the company has moved in the last 2 years. She makes many bath and body products. She also packs orders on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She also is another familiar face in the storefront. She’s quick and adaptive. She’s great at problem solving and has good customer service skills. She is another person you may have talked to on the phone. I’m blessed to have her on the team and to have her creative skillsets.
Ambre
This is Ambre! She is also my (Tara) sister. She comes in once a week and packs all our incense for us. She also helps polish jewelry and helps cleans the storefront. I’m grateful to have a sister like her. She’s had many health obstacles to overcome in her lifetime but yet she’s the most positive human being I know. Thank you Ambre for just helping out where you can and for all your positive energy you bring to our store when you’re here!
